Ps3 installation slow

So annoying. Joined Nov 13, Messages 1, I've gotten used to the long install process that accompanies the PS3's games and you'll probably get used to it as well, it just takes a bit of time.

Download speeds are slow, but I don't think I've had any installs take more than minutes with one exception: DMC4. That one took 12 minutes. Metal Gear installs prior to each chapter and each one is roughly minutes.

I remember going out and buying games for consoles and just being able to play them not having to worry about "installing" or patches. I would say that it seems to take a little longer than it should to install things, but really I just flip over to cable and wait till the light stops flashing.

I have only been annoyed really when trying to fire up a game and then get hit with updates or patches. I don't mind too much though, I still like the PS3 as a system better than the others. I was looking at adding a Xbox to the mix, but the high failure rate prevents me from doing it. I know they will fix it, but that shouldn't need to be done. I bet it will fly. Joined Mar 26, Messages 3, When I upgraded my PS3's hard drive the first time, I had this issue too. Pulled the drive out, did a deep scan, and it had tons of bad sectors. Just thought I'd pass this tidbit along for any other peeps running into incredibly slow game installations. TLDR: Downloaded games install much faster when not connected to the internet. I think that is the reason it took so long, not that you were connected to the internet.

I downloaded a game on xbox it takes like an hour or more. If download the same size file on PC its much faster. J-Fly 8 years ago 8. Downloading is fast if your connection is wired and you opt to download from the PS Store on the spot as opposed to downloading in the background.

Anyway, how is it my connection? And what can I change about it? Like I said, I have MB download. Everything else here is speedy, and wired, even Wiu is downloading faster, yes I know it's a shock If it's not fixable, well ok, then so be it, it's not a dealbreaker.
